About Us
Insurance Claim Advocacy (ICA)
Insurance
Claim Advocacy (ICA) was created to help accident victims across the United States
navigate one of the most confusing and high-stakes moments they may ever face:
filing an insurance claim after a serious accident.
Every
year, thousands of families are left trying to understand denied claims,
exhausted policy limits, lowball settlement offers, and disputes with insurers
— often while also coping with injury, loss, or grief. Insurance policies are
written in dense legal language, and the claims process rarely explains itself.
Our goal is to close that gap with clear, accurate, people-first information.
Our Mission
Our
mission is to provide trustworthy, easy-to-understand, and practical insurance
education that helps accident victims across the United States:
- Resolve the claims process with greater confidence
- Understand their insurance benefits and policy limits
- Recognize common claim mistakes before they happen
- Make informed decisions at every stage of a claim
We
are committed to publishing people-first, evidence-based content that supports
consumer awareness and respects the highest ethical standards of accuracy and
transparency.
What We Cover
ICA publishes plain-language explainers and case breakdowns covering topics such as:
- How insurance companies evaluate and settle claims
- Bad-faith insurance practices and policyholder protections
- Understanding policy limits, bodily injury coverage, and UM/UIM coverage
- What happens when multiple victims are involved in a single accident
- State-specific insurance laws and how they affect real claims, with a focus on Florida
Where
relevant, we reference real, published court decisions and current state law to
ground our explanations in fact rather than speculation.
Our Editorial Standards
- Evidence-based. Where we describe a legal case, statute, or statistic, we cite the original source.
- Plain language. We write for policyholders, not lawyers — legal and insurance concepts are explained in accessible terms.
- Balanced. We aim to explain how the claims process actually works, including both what protects policyholders and where the law's limits are, rather than overpromising outcomes.
- Not legal advice. ICA is an educational resource. Nothing on this site should be treated as legal, financial, or insurance advice for your specific situation — we always encourage readers to consult a licensed attorney or insurance professional before making claim-related decisions.
Who Writes For ICA
ICA's
content is written and reviewed by contributors with a background in insurance
and claims education, including Yusuf Nurudeen (B.Sc., AAT, ACA (ICAN)), a
Chartered Accountant with 15+ years in insurance services and a lecturer in
business law and insurance courses at accredited ICAN study centers in Nigeria.
Our team researches primary sources — court opinions, state statutes, and
regulatory guidance — before publishing, and updates articles when relevant
laws or standards change.
